The Three Tiers of Trex Decking
Choose from three levels of deck boards for a full range of easy, low-maintenance options. Transcend is the premier board, with the highest durability and stunning colors in three lines (Lineage, Tropicals, and Earth Tones). Select is a solid mid-tier board that is still better than other brands’ best boards. Enhance is Trex’s economy board in two lines (Naturals and Basics). It provides the most logical upgrade from wood, offering better performance for essentially the same price.

Transcend Lineage, Tropicals, and Earth Tones go further, offering incredible scratch-resistance, while the other two boards also provide a higher level of durability that older generation products.
Here’s how each board stacks up:
- Transcend fits the category for [BEST] by offering the widest array colors and finishes in Lineage, Tropicals and Earth Tones. The shell technology protects against fading, staining, scratching, mold and mildew.
- Select is the board that comes in the [BETTER] category. Select comes in Earth Tone colors with a more subtle embossed grain. Like Transcend, Select offers fade and stain protection as well as mold and mildew resistance for minimal maintenance.
- Enhance is the [GOOD] deck board. It combines the durability of a composite with the affordability of wood. Although the shell is less dense than Transcend and Select, Enhance is still tough enough to take on the traffic you can expect to have on a deck over the years. The boards are scalloped, so they’re lightweight for easy handling, making it a perfect DIY board for basic construction.
Note: The thickness of a Select board is slightly less than Transcend and Enhance. To avoid tripping, this collection should not be combined with the other two.
